Ripple Summary

Before 2016, Ripple, had its own official Ripple wallet on their homesite. However, they stopped this service during 2016 and migrated all wallets to Gatehub. Ripple consist of a payment network and a currency (XRP). Ripple enables banks to send real-time international payments across networks. The aim is to make international transfers faster, cheaper and more secure.

Ripple doesn't have their own wallet platform anymore. Ripple´s official wallet was migrated to Gatehub. However, Gatehub is completely independent of Ripple. Ripple doesn´t make any representations or warranties with respect to GateHub’s services. Ripple has general instructions on their site how to setup a Rippe wallet at Gatebhub.

Rippex

Rippex wallet is completely open source and the code can be found on GitHub. Rippex wallet is available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. A Rippex account allows deposits and withdrawals to and from Ripple accounts, so users can send payments to other Ripple accounts, buy and sell several assets.

Exchange Wallets

Exchange wallets have one big pro and one big cons.  Obviously, it´s very user-friendly and convenient way to open an exchange account and store the Ripples or other cryptocurrency assets. On the other hand, there have been numerous hacker attacks and close downs of cryptocurrency exchanges. For example, Mt Gox and Cryptsy close down their services. Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Bter and more exchanges have been hacked. One way could be to store cryptocurrency assets in several different locations. We present a few exchanges with Ripple wallet.
